Information On Operation Smile:

[Operation Smile is a charity organization healing children’s smiles, making the world a better place.

As a children’s charity, we measure ourselves by the joy we see on all of the faces we help. At Operation Smile, we’re more than a charity organization. More than an NGO. We’re a mobilized force of medical professionals and caring hearts who provide safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate.

More than 200,000 children are born with a severe cleft condition each year — often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places these children are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can’t afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a normal life.

That’s where we come in as an international charity providing much needed surgical services. Since 1982, Operation Smile — through the help of dedicated medical volunteers — has provided free surgeries to children around the world. As one of the most prominent children’s charities in the world and with a presence in over 60 countries, we are able to heal children’s smiles and bring hope for a better future.” ] – Source:  http://www.operationsmile.org

New Rev Group – Changes in the workplace and in the workforce

Changes in the workplace and in the workforce

Salt Lake City, UT

New Rev Group

New Rev Group Manager, Ron Gronewald, has worked in a variety of industries over the past 10 years, long enough to conclude that there has been a monumental shift in the workplace and in the workforce.  Technology has irrevocably changed the way businesses interact with one another, customers, and employees.  This has left a void of personal, one-on-one contact needed to facilitate strong personal relationships with customers and employees.

New Rev Group has found a niche market as a result of these changes.  “Our business is based on creating and maintaining personal relationships.  Our clients contract/hire us to personalize their marketing efforts, put a face and a body behind their brand and improve their customer’s experiences.” – states Gronewald.

New Rev Group has also had to adapt to these changes in the workforce. “Young employees are entering the workforce rooted in social media (facebook, twitter, linkedin, etc).  These social media outlets give potential employees an inside look into our company, it also gives us an inside look at them.  Some are not aware this is a window in which both sides can look through.  As a result, we can find out a lot about behaviors and activities outside of work and how potential employees represent themselves as an indication of how they would represent my company, and also the brands that my company represents.”

New Rev Group’s Salt Lake location is fast approaching their One Year Anniversary being in Utah and is looking to continue to grow the size and scope of the Salt Lake location as well as expand into nearby markets for some existing clients who are increasing their marketing budgets.  “Recruiting top talent to be a part of a growing organization is tricky.  Lots of people are looking for a job and what’s in it for them in the short term.  I’m more interested in the type of people who are looking to start a career and are looking to an employer to be a partner in their career and what we can offer each other.  That to me, is the win – win situation I am seeking!”

Where and why has this disconnect between employer and employee happened? “I think it has been a shift in culture over the last couple of decades.  We are an instant gratification society, we spend more than we make, we want everything, and we want it right now.  Unfortunately, easy money and credit have flooded the markets in recent decades making this type of lifestyle possible. I think recent economic events have underscored that this type of lifestyle as a society is unsustainable in the long run and it will take time for our culture to respond.  But it is responding, and I think in a positive manner.  What I mean by that is this, young people have seen what happens when we live outside of our means (foreclosures, bankruptcies, companies laying off workers and going out of business) they also are understanding the why’s behind these events which is what is important.  More and more people are waking up to the fact that money and success aren’t easy.  It takes a lot of hard work, commitment, and sacrifice.  Slowly but surely the workforce is embracing this as fact.  The days of six figure incomes with little to no work required are gone.  They also realize that the American dream is in fact possible; it’s just not going to come easy.  As an employer, I am much more optimistic about the new workforce and their mindset.  Night and day difference to the mentality of the workforce I was interviewing 5-8 years ago.”

“The people that do very well in our industry, in business, and in life for that matter, have more of a  long term outlook, and understand the need for hard work, sacrifice and commitment.  A team or company filled with those types of people, can come together to produce amazing results and accomplish tremendous feats.  We are looking to partner with this type of talent pool to create and grow an amazing company that will deliver great successes for our clients, our company, and our employees.” – Ron Gronewald asserts that his company is poised to capitalize on the need for personalized marketing efforts in the future and his company is seeking the ambitious, and skilled workforce that is looking for the right company and right industry to launch their careers with.
